LIVING WATERS LUTHERAN SCHOOL
Alice Springs NT
Living Waters Lutheran School’s new sensory garden has been a positive addition to the outdoor learning environments within our school grounds. This garden was designed with lower primary students in mind to enable them to connect with the environment and experience a range of sensory stimuli. While the garden has only recently been established it has already been utilised in many different ways.
It has been used to provide sensory breaks for students with emotional and behavioural needs, it has assisted in the engagement of reluctant learners with the curriculum, provides hands on experience of the Biological Sciences, and is a safe haven for students who find the main playground overstimulating or intimidating. We look forward to seeing how this space will grow and develop as students and educators interact and contribute to the sensory garden.
I would like to extend our sincere thanks for the funds to establish this wonderful learning space.
